Panel Discussion: Exploring the Political trends in the Israeli right-wing, 24th June 2020

On 24th June 2020, Forward Thinking hosted a panel discussion with Likud Director of Foreign Affairs Eli Hazan and adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Ariel Bulshtein. Joining the discussion were European parliamentarians, foreign affairs departments and diplomats.Following the establishment of the unity government on 17th May, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has publicly committed to begin the process of annexation of potentially up to 30% of the West Bank from 1st July. The date set by Netanyahu in the coalition agreement between Likud and the Blue and White party.The focus of the online discussion was to explore Likud's position on annexation and the conflict, and the factors that inform the party's position on these issues. Discussions also examined the likelihood of annexation, the possible forms it could take and its potential consequences for Israel, the region and international community.
